PSSA Testing In Philadelphia

Hi ya'll!!!! This is PSSA testing month!!!!!


D: Determine, how to solve the problem.
E: Elimination. Use the process of elimination, if necessary.
T: Time. Be sure your student/child knows he/she must have enough time to try, check and revise. Try the problem, check it over, and go over it one last time.
E: Export. Some students have a bubble sheet and an answer sheet. Remind them NOT to write in the answer sheet, just the bubble sheet. Also remind them to export their answers from their scrap paper to the bubble sheet, if required.
R: Recheck. Once complete, and if allowed, tell your student/child to recheck his/her work.


My daughter is in fourth grade and is taking the test today. In prepping for this month before hand, we reviewed some of her assignments and focus on what was her weakest abilities. I told my daughter to do her best and concentrate on the questions that were easiest first, and then move on to the harder questions. Always give your student/child positive comments before any test, even if it's not schoolwork. I also explained to her that she can use the process of elimination: crossing out all the answers she knew was wrong, and using the remaining answers to figure out the problem.


This is important: Remember to tell you student/child to fill the bubble ALL THE WAY. Not halfway, not with a checkmark, not with an X, but filled in neatly.
